Construction Inspector (Quality)

This role will focus on construction quality assurance, field inspections, documentation, and compliance with project requirements, including Federal Transit Administration (FTA), Buy America, and Build America, Buy America (BABA) regulations.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"></span></p> <p></p> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Conduct field inspections and quality surveillance to verify construction activities, materials, and documentation comply with project specifications and approved quality plans.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Review contractor inspection reports, testing records, material certifications, Bills of Materials Lists (BMLs), and domestic sourcing documentation.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Support implementation of project QA/QC procedures and applicable FTA, Buy America, and BABA requirements.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Conduct audits and document reviews of contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and testing agencies to verify compliance.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Track material traceability, testing results, non-conformances, audit findings, and corrective actions through resolution.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Maintain accurate, organized quality and compliance records, including inspection logs, certifications, audit documentation, and compliance tracking matrices.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Prepare quality and compliance reports, identify potential risks, and escalate deficiencies to project leadership.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Coordinate with the Quality Manager, contractors, engineers, suppliers, and project stakeholders to address quality and compliance issues.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Support FTA and other owner or federal audits, project acceptance, punch-list completion, and close-out documentation.</span></li> </ul> <p></p> <h1 style="line-height: 1.4;"><span style="font-family: impact, sans-serif; color: rgb(17, 32, 61); font-size: 24pt;"><strong>QUALIFICATIONS</strong></span></h1> <p></p> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction inspection, quality assurance/quality control, or construction management, preferably on major infrastructure or transportation projects.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Working knowledge of construction QA/QC processes, inspection and testing procedures, material traceability, and quality documentation.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Familiarity with FTA, Buy America, and BABA requirements, including domestic sourcing documentation and applicable waiver processes, is preferred.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Experience reviewing contractor records, conducting audits, documenting deficiencies, and tracking corrective actions.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic document management or inspection reporting systems.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Strong attention to detail, organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Experience on federally funded transit, rail, tunnel, or transportation infrastructure projects.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Direct experience with FTA oversight, Buy America/BABA compliance, or federal project audits.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">ACI, NICET, or other relevant construction quality inspection certifications.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Experience with digital inspection tools, compliance tracking systems, and quality reporting.</span></li> </ul> <p></p> <p style="line-height: 1.4;"><br></p> <h1 style="line-height: 1.4;"><span style="font-family: impact, sans-serif; color: rgb(17, 32, 61); font-size: 24pt;"><strong>COMPENSATION</strong></span></h1> <p style="line-height: 1;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">The anticipated compensation range for this position is between <strong>$45-$60/hr</strong>.
