Field Service Diesel Technician

Job Summary: Technical specialist and primary customer support contact to diagnose and execute complex repairs to engine products at the customer’s site. We are looking for a talented Field Service Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in (Tucson, AZ). Will make an impact in the following ways: We offer up to $9000 sign on bonus (for external candidates), relocation, competitive pay and benefits! • Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop • Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools • Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles • Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies • Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products • Maintain own tools In order to be successful in this role you will need the following: • Completes complex internal engine repairs • Performs complex unassisted engine overhauls • Ability to troubleshoot with limited/no support from diagnostic tools • Detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components • Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation This role is a hybrid shop/field position requiring both work in the shop and field depending on customer needs. In order to be successful in this role you will need the following: • Completes complex internal engine repairs • Performs engine overhauls unassisted (Preferred) • Detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components • Proficient experience with engine diagnostic software • Experience with Chassis work (Brakes, suspension, steering, etc.) - This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing DOT Nice to Have: - A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire - Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older - A current valid license is required for this role - This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations - This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical - 3 years driving experience - This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use -Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age - This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing. Education, Licenses, Certifications: Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred) Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution Locally valid driving permit This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Experience: Significant field service work experience Expert level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products Customer service experience Experience providing technical advice and coaching to more junior technicians (preferred) Compensation and Benefits Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
