Job Title: Outreach Specialist-Part-time
Department: Northwest Communities Education Center/Radio KDNA
Reports to: Director of Operations
SUMMARY
The Outreach Specialist will work directly with vulnerable and underserved communities, identifying their needs and assisting their efforts at self-organization, challenge, and education.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Organize, participate in , and promote events as directed by your supervisor or manager, including but not limited to assisting in promoting grant goals and objectives.
Develop and maintain rapport with stores, owners, and employees.
Support ongoing community programs with logistical and material coordination.
Assist with the development of radio scripts as directed.
Participate in on-air radio programming as directed.
Recognize emerging issues and leaders in the community organizations, topics of interest that enable collaboration with NCEC/KDNA.
Stay abreast of local, state, and national events specific to store news; changes in ownership, staff turnover, and economic changes that affect store income.
Promote the organization and its services to the community.
Effectively work with the team and help each other with tasks.
Working with the program coordinators and outreach staff by assisting in prioritizing outreach materials and key events.
Develops outreach content and materials as directed.
Provide outreach within the community and be available for flexible hours.
Maintaining a strong and effective company voice through outreach.
Keep all client information confidential, and avoid using personal phone for communication.
Provide outreach within the community based on grant expectations and be available for flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed .
Interpret and translate as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Must be punctual and have strong attendance in the workplace.
QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
• Must be able to read and write in English and Spanish.

• Lived experience in the communities we serve.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• This work will consist of facilitating various one-hour training sessions for no more than 20 stores and up to 80 training sessions.
• Able to follow protocols as established.
• Proficient in office 365, excel, word, and outlook.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate degree required. Experience in outreach preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must be fully bilingual/fluent in English and Spanish
EQUIPMENT SKILLS
Must be able to operate Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and PowerPoint Must have a valid driver's license
Must have car insurance
