 Department Details Our 50-bed Medical-Surgical unit provides an ideal environment for both new and experienced nursing assistants to develop strong patient care skills and expand their clinical knowledge. The unit serves a diverse population of medical and surgical patients, creating a fast-paced and engaging atmosphere. This setting offers valuable opportunities to build hands-on experience, strengthen communication and teamwork, and support high-quality patient care across a wide range of conditions and treatments. Summary The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as caregiver to the patient during the scheduled work period. The NA provides patient-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned patient under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is preferred. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications. If working in North Dakota (ND) or Minnesota (MN) and not a Certified Nursing Assistant, must be on the NA Registry as a Nursing Assistant through the North Dakota Dept. of Health or through the Minnesota Dept. of Health within four months from the date of hire. If working in Wisconsin, must be on the Wisconsin Nurse Aid Registry with current work eligibility.
