We’re looking for someone who will bring high energy, a positive attitude, and personality to the anchor desk every day. The ideal candidate is a seasoned journalist and strong storyteller who pitches and turns high-impact, people-driven stories for all day parts and platforms. He or she will use their experience to work alongside the management team to mentor and coach one another. 2 News is a leader in the community, and our anchor team regularly engages with viewers at community events year-round.   Duties & Responsibilities • Presents news stories and other content for all platforms • Ensures that all news content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality • Writes and delivers news stories in a clear and concise manner • Assists in writing, copy editing, researching, and coordinating news programming and other content • Conducts interviews with news personnel and external entities • Responds to breaking news and other urgent newsrooms situations as required • Writes content for the website and other platforms • Posts engaging content and interacts with viewers/users on social media sites • Participates in promotional activities to include public appearances • Performs special projects and other duties as assigned Requirements & Skills • Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field • Minimum five years of experience in news anchoring preferred • Must possess the ability to interact well with all colleagues • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written with the ability to ad lib when required • Presents all news without bias or prejudice • Exceptional on-air presence • Excellent news judgment with an expansive knowledge of local and national current events, history, newsmakers, etc. • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and multitask simultaneously with execution showcasing your high level of experiences • Exhibit coaching and leadership skills • Ability to effectively listen to fully understand problems and communicate with a team to shape a solution • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record • Flexibility to work any shift SCAM ALERT: Please be aware candidates may be at risk of being targeted by scammers seeking personal data or money.
